The Centre is the new home of the Sydney Melanoma Unit, a world leader in melanoma research, education and treatment.
The 8,224m2 building, which is being used as a research facility and training centre, includes a 100 seat auditorium, 6 fully contained consulting suites, large conference rooms, a small research space and a 2-level car park.
Umow Lai was the mechanical, electrical and sustainability consultant for the redevelopment, which is registered for a Green Star – Education rating (Best Practice). Sustainable initiatives incorporated into the building include under floor and displacement air conditioning, adaptive natural ventilation and rainwater harvesting.
