Umow Lai has been involved in master planning and documentation of the Group’s Hospitals in Berwick, Geelong and Ballarat.

The initial stage of the $100 million redevelopment program involved the extension and refurbishment of the Berwick Hospital in 2007.

The project included the refurbishment of the existing Operating Suite, new recovery and holding areas, new 30 bed ward and new central energy generation plant to serve the entire Hospital including both the new and existing buildings.

A new Specialist Centre was constructed at the Geelong Hospital.

Completed in May 2009, the facility includes ground floor clinical areas boasting three Operating Theatres, Recovery Ward and Main Reception. Levels 1 and 2 are consulting suites.

Master planning was undertaken for the Ballarat Hospital which looked at the entire facility and addressed the immediate and future services needs of the hospital.

Umow Lai has also carried out due diligence reporting on a potential acquisition for St John of God.
