The Stage 20 redevelopment of Northland Shopping Centre is the most significant extension and upgrade to the Centre in many years.
The first Stage of Stage 20, successfully completed in late 2008, included the provision of a new curved Fresh Food Mall. The mall contains a number of specialty stores and the relocated Coles Supermarket. This stage created a number of service difficulties. Working within an existing area, major plant and services were required to be relocated and upgraded to accommodate the mall and service the area. The works were designed with minimal services disruptions as the remaining areas of the Centre remained trading during the works.
The second stage included the provision of a new Fashion Mall with over 60 specialty stores and a new Target Store. A number of “green” initiatives have been integrated into the mall, including louvres that span the length of the mall that will be utilised for natural ventilation and smoke venting.
