Fujitsu Australia’s new three floor tenancy at Docklands sets a new benchmark in workplace innovation and represents one of the most progressive and sustainable office tenancies in the Australian market.

The tenancy recently achieved a 6 Star Green Star – Office Interiors v1.1 certified rating, which represents “World Leader” in sustainable design and construction; the third in Australia to achieve the certification.

Delivery was both on time and under budget, costing about the same as a standard fit-out, even though it incorporates a high level of sustainability and innovation. Much of this can be attributed to the way the sustainability targets were set at the outset of the design and the way that the design team was able to cleverly integrate the fit out with the base building architecture.

One of the most noticeable features of the tenancy is its fresh, spacious and light atmosphere, enhanced by a huge ‘liveable’ green wall and hedge rows of plants that separate groups of workstations, helping to improve indoor air quality.

Umow Lai was engaged as the building services and sustainability consultant for the 4,518m2 sustainable office fit-out, which is located in The Gauge, a 6 Star Green Star – Office Design and As Built certified building.
