Director, New South Wales
We are proud to announce that Paul Jacobsen has been appointed as Director of Umow Lai, New South Wales.
As Team Leader, Paul has been integral to the growth and stability of the Sydney office and he will continue to oversee operations as part of his role.
Paul is responsible for many of Umow Lai’s landmark projects, including the redevelopment of the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney’s Circular Quay. He has also led the development of our Residential and Industrial market sectors, including the Uniting Care’s Mayflower Aged Care facility in Westmead, Australand’s Vivid, Pavilion, and Centrale Residential Developments in Discovery Point and North Ryde; and GPT’s Retail Ready Meat processing facility, a state of the art facility featuring over 20,000m2 of processing space.
Paul’s dedication and drive have been significant factors contributing to the overall success of the business and his promotion to Director is well deserved. This appointment is recognition of his outstanding performance.
Victorian State Manager
We are pleased to announce that Andrew Oxley has been appointed as the State Manager for Umow Lai’s operations in Victoria.
Andrew has been with Umow Lai for 10 years, commencing in 2005 as a Senior Engineer. His consistent high performance led to his promotion as Director in 2010. In his 5 years as Director he has been responsible for overseeing the Fire Engineering, Fire and Hydraulic Services teams and administrative functions, managing project resourcing and general operations around the office.
Additionally he has led numerous major projects including; residential developments at 35 Spring Street, Melbourne and 150 Clarendon Street, East Melbourne; commercial developments Melbourne Water Head Office located at 990 La Trobe Street in the Docklands and the State Government Office, Dandenong C2. His major project experience also extends to the health sector, as he has led numerous fire engineering projects including audits at Peninsula Health, Eastern Health and Alfred Health.
Andrew’s extensive experience combined with his commitment to his clients, team development and staff engagement equip him with the ideal skill set to run Umow Lai’s Victorian operations.
We know he will continue to grow the team and further advance the business to meet our clients’ needs.

We would like to congratulate Louise Donellan on her recent promotion within the Umow Lai team.
Louise started with Umow Lai at the beginning of 2015 as the Marketing Coordinator and has since worked tirelessly to drive communications and events, taking the Umow Lai brand to a whole new level.
New to the engineering sector, Louise has proactively engaged staff, conducted research and pushed her own professional development to grasp the industry quickly.
