Umow Lai have been working with Aurizon since July 2014 to define the requirements for the new Aurizon corporate headquarters, located in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. The tower is set within 8,000sqm of refurbished heritage church grounds at 900 Ann Street.
As part of Aurizon’s Technical review team, Umow Lai developed the Engineering and ESD project briefing documents as well as providing client advice to reduce the initial short list from six sites, to a final short list ultimately leading to a final recommendation.
From project inception, Umow Lai worked closely with Aurizon’s internal stakeholders to understand their business practices and functional needs. As Aurizon would be the sole tenant for the new built space, it was critical to ensure the new site could be flexible to accommodate their requirements for 2025 and beyond.
The new offices will deliver over 18,000sqm of nett lettable area for Aurizon and are set to achieve a Green Star Office v3 5 star Design and As Built rating, as well as a 5 star NABERS base building rating.
The new headquarters will be delivered by an experienced project team including: John Wardle Architects, HASSELL, Consolidated Properties and Hutchison Builders.
The building construction is due to commence in March this year and is due to be completed in early 2018.
As a result of the consulting services provided for this project, Umow Lai have also been engaged to deliver the 5 Star fit out rating for Aurizon.
